with Drawings by Josh TaylorI read Byron Coley’s poem “Kanada” in Ecstatic Peace Magazine months ago and immediately solicited a full manuscript for the series. If there was a “Monsters of Rock Criticism” tour, Byron Coley would be headlining.
I barely even know Josh Taylor, but he runs a little venue in Denver called Monkey Mania where my band, Fag Team, played a show a number of months back. Almost all of these drawings were done for band flyers and I asked him if I could have some.
The cover of this book – the unicorn girl getting her hand sniffed by a horse – worked out like an aesthetic miracle. It’s probably my favorite in the series.
