Richard Hell is part of the alter-ego that wrote one of the great books of the 20th Century: Wanna Go Out? by Theresa Stern. He’s also author of the novel Go Now, a short collection of poems called Weather (CUZ Editions, 2000) the recently released Hot and Cold, a collection of his writings, drawings, pictures that span his life, including song lyrics from his days on the front lines of punk in Richard Hell and the Voidoids. We met after I reviewed the Ron Padgett book Poems I Guess I Wrote that he put out on his press, CUZ Editions. We started emailing back and forth like a couple of schoolgirls in a Hello Kitty chat room. He’s a swell fellow. This book is a chapter from his latest novel in progress.
